Financial Assistance

Phone: 906.524.3350

For individuals without medical insurance, several programs are available to provide assistance, including the BCMH CARES Program. The CARES program is a sliding fee scale program allowing patients who are uninsured or underinsured to receive health care services at a reduced cost at BCMH and the BCMH Physician Group Rural Health Clinic. To be eligible for a sliding fee discount, one must provide evidence of household income, (prior year’s tax return and most recent paycheck stub), in addition to proof of denial from Medicaid and www.healthcare.gov. Completion of the Medicaid and healthcare.gov applications is an important first step in obtaining financial assistance. For individuals who have already been denied and wish to complete the CARES program application, assistance is also available. If needed, please call 906.524.3350 to speak to a BCMH Financial Counselor.

For uninsured individuals, not qualifying for the above mentioned program, and receiving a private pay bill, payment will be requested within 28 days of service. Those unable to pay for their bill in its entirety may contact the BCMH Financial Counselor to set up a payment plan. Hospital guidelines are followed when developing an individualized payment plan. To set up a payment plan, call 906.524.3350.
