Chief Executive Officer

Baraga County Memorial Hospital in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula is seeking a Chief Executive officer. BCMH serves people through a 15 bed hospital, physicians clinic, Home Care and Hospice and rehab center. The CEO is responsible for the overall day to day hospital operations as well as the strategic leadership, planning, development, direction, coordination and control of activity within patient care, clinical and clinical support service areas. Works collaboratively with leaders and staff to ensure that quality patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner. Plans and directs the short and long range objectives/goals of the company to meet its financial and non-financial goals. Ensures synergy between people, processes, and strategies to execute business objectives/goals. Attracts, trains, develops, and retains talent to ensure business needs are met. Drives and builds revenue growth through developing new business strategies to improve overall performance. Communicates key information to respective stakeholders. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and policies.

Qualifications include:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility in Healthcare Administration.
  • Experience at the Senior/Executive level in a Critical Access Hospital required.
  • Labor union experience strongly recommended.
  • Demonstrated leadership and complex organizational management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer operations including word processing.
  • Demonstrates community commitment, is active in the community and professional.
  • Ability to lead at all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of hospital management and policy administration as well as development and implementation of budgets, strategies and standards.
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity and follow through on commitments.
  • Strong financial/analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem identification and resolution skills, decision –making and the ability to develop/mentor management.
  • Ability to recruit and retain staff.

 

Plant Operations Coordinator

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a full time Plant Operations Coordinator.  Qualifications include:

  •  5-10 years experience in building and mechanical maintenance, or a combination of education and experience in mechanical repair, painting, plumbing, carpentry or construction that would provide equivalent knowledge.
  • Must have previous progressively responsible experience in maintenance or engineering and supervisory experience.
  • Must maintain a valid drivers' license and good driving record.
  • Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.

 

PRN Perioperative Scrub RN

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a PRN Perioperative Scrub RN.  Qualifications include:

  • Must have graduated from an approved school of professional nursing.
  • Must maintain current licensure for professional nursing practice in the State of Michigan.
  • Must be BLS/CPR and ACLS certified every 2 years according to the Michigan Heart Association guidelines.
  • A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care facility required.
  • A minimum of 2 years previous scrub nurse experiences preferred.
  • Must maintain Chemotherapy certification or be certified within 6 months.
  • Demonstrates stress management by remaining composed during stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in administration of quality nursing care to patients.
  • Demonstrates personal acceptance of responsibility and accountability for self and team members.
  • Demonstrates use of rehabilitative-restorative nursing techniques appropriate to the need of the patient.
  • Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with staff members, administrators, physicians and the public.
  • Accepts assigned duties within his/her knowledge, experience and educational training.
  • Maintains confidentiality concerning the patient and family, staff members, administration and physicians.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

3 Day per Week RN Positions Available

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a three day per week (12 hour shifts / every third weekend) RNs.  Qualifications include:

  • Must have graduated from an approved school of professional nursing.
  • Must maintain current licensure for professional nursing practice in the State of Michigan.

Home Care and Hospice PRN CNA

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a PRN Home Care/Hospice CNA to join our team.

  • Must be a high school or graduate or have a GED from an approved program.
  • Must be have successfully completed a formal nurse aide program and must maintain and have current certification.
  • Must successfully complete a state approved competency evaluation within four months of hire.
  • Must be able to express ideas logically.
  • Must be CPR certified every 2 years according to the Michigan Heart Association Guidelines.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Hospice philosophy.
  • Demonstrates stress management, personal acceptance of responsibility and accountability, promotes positive interpersonal relationships and maintains confidentiality.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values at BCMH.

 

Clinic RN, LPN, or CNA

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a Clinic RN, LPN or CNA to join our team.

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school for RNs, LPNs, or CNAs.
  • One year of experience in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Must maintain current licensure in the State of Michigan.
  • Must be BCLS/CPR certified every 2 years according to the Michigan Heart Association Guidelines.
  • Must have the ability to administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to use various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures, knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures, basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrates stress management, clinic competence, personal acceptance of responsibility and accountability, promotes positive interpersonal relationships and maintains confidentiality.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values at BCMH.

 

Dietary Assistant

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a Dietary Assistant to join our team.

  • Must be a high school graduate or GED.
  • Must have or become certified in the Serv Safe program or other state accredited certificate food safety program by the end of the probationary period.
  • Must have cooking experience with quantity food preparation.
  • Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities and be familiar with seasoning required and cooking time involved.
  • Must have firsthand knowledge of cooking characteristics of various cuts of meat, and know names and contents of various types of dishes.
  • Must be able to make simple estimates relative to quantities of food required.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values at BCMH.

 

2 Full Time Housekeepers

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking 2 Full Time Housekeepers to join our team.

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must know how to use common house cleaning devices and cleaning products such as brooms, mops, floor waxes, scouring pads, etc, to keep areas clean.
  • Must know how to operate and care for equipment such as stripper, scrubber, waxer and buffer.
  • Must know how to measure cleaning solutions and be alert to hazards.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance or have own transportation to other BCMH outbuildings.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

Join Our Volunteer Program!

BCMH has an active volunteer program at their facility. If you are looking for a way to contribute to your community by volunteering your time, we would love to have the opportunity to have you as a part of our organization. Volunteer greeters are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm to greet the public and provide directions and guidance to those who are new to the facility. This rewarding opportunity can require as little or as many hours as you would like to donate - there are no minimum requirements.
