Imaging services available at BCMH includes extensive imaging modalities beyond the basic x-ray, including:
- Abdominal, Cardiac & Vascular Imaging
- Computer Tomography (CT) scans
- Bone Density Testing (Dexascan)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) accredited by the Joint Commission
- Nuclear Medicine (NM) scans
- Cardiolite Stress Tests
- Electroencephalograms (EEG)
- Pain Management with Dr. Vlasic
- Vein Clinic with Dr. Vlasic
The department’s mammogram and ultrasound programs are American College of Radiology (ACR) accredited and are second to none. The ultrasound program is one of four programs in the U.P. to be accredited. Radiology interpretations are provided by Board Certified Radiologists. Emergency exams are read within minutes, while most other exams have results within hours.
Mobile magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services have been provided at BCMH by Alliance Imaging since 2003. Alliance Imaging is a reputable organization providing services to hospitals throughout the western U.P. Services are conveniently provided at BCMH on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings.
BCMH’s Picture Archive and Communication System, known as PACS, is an imaging library which contains all images produced by imaging technologies at BCMH. This system enables the imaging department to have patients' images and reports always available for review throughout the hospital and to other facilities. If a patient comes into BCMH and needs further treatment elsewhere, their images can easily be sent to most U.P. sites allowing for expedited patient care.
